Emergency Forest Restoration Program Update

To Private Forest Owners, High Park Fire Zone:

I am writing to provide you with information about the newly authorized Emergency Forest Restoration Program (EFRP) that is being administered out of the Larimer County Farm Service Agency in Fort Collins.  The enrollment period for this program begins today and will run through September 28th.  This program authorizes assistance in the form of up to 75% cost-shares from Federal funds to reestablish the forest within the burn area.  A qualifying producer may receive cost-share funds for practices that restore the forest health.  Types of conservation practices that may be authorized include debris and obstruction removal, mulching, contour log felling, site preparation for new seeding, seedlings, and grass reestablishment.

Wayne K. Rieger, County Executive Director
